The Center is pinning its hopes on the Udon 2.0 scheme to expand regional aviation. According to the article, Civil Aviation Minister Rammohan Naidu said that investments in airports, regional routes and ancillary services are likely to increase through this programme.
It is estimated that there will be an investment of around Rs.30,000 crore as of now and the rest of the investment will come from state governments and other partners. The news also stated that some airport projects in Telangana and the progress of MoUs signed in the past were also discussed.
The article said that the schedule of routes for 21 states and Union Territories including Telangana may be prepared soon and an understanding is being formed with the management organizations of the airports.
