Hyderabad, Progress Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said the state must improve ease of doing business while increasing revenue for the exchequer, without creating difficulties in tax collection.
He directed officials to raise GST revenue through coordination across all departments, and pointed to leakages in GST on construction materials that must be plugged.
Assessing tax at the permission stage itself would improve collections, he said, adding that artificial intelligence should be used to detect evasion.
The Chief Minister met noted economist Arvind Subramanian and discussed avenues for revenue as the state economy expands rapidly.
