Hyderabad, September 3: Amor Hospitals has announced that it has successfully performed a robotic assisted radical nephrectomy on a 62-year-old man with a tumor in his left kidney. The hospital said that the patient recovered quickly after the surgery and was discharged on the third day.
The hospital said that the patient who approached the hospital due to abdominal pain underwent several tests including a CT scan and was diagnosed with a tumor in the left kidney. After medical tests and preliminary evaluation, the medical team performed a robotic left radical nephrectomy to remove the tumor-bearing kidney.Consultant Oncologist, Advanced Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgeon Dr. Kalyan Wangara said that this surgery was performed with the help of 'Make in India' SSI Mantra Robotic Surgical System. He stated that with the right patient selection, the robotic approach would enable complex surgeries to be performed with small incisions and high precision.
Amor Hospitals Managing Director Dr. B. Kishore Reddy said that the aim is to bring modern technology to the patients at affordable prices.
