AP Water Resources Minister Dr. Nimmala Ramanaidu stated that the main objective of the alliance government is to complete the Polavaram project at the earliest. Speaking at a press conference held at the Secretariat, he explained that 90 percent of Polavaram project's main dam civil works and 94 percent of diaphragm wall works have been completed.
He said that a package of Rs.600 crore will be released to the residents of the Weligonda project by the end of this month. He said that 3 TMC of water is being diverted from Godavari through Eleru so that there is no shortage of drinking water in Visakhapatnam and Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is constantly reviewing pending projects in the state to complete them in order of priority.
Polavaram project civil works 90 percent complete: Minister Nimmala Ramanaidu
AP Water Resources Minister Nimmala Ramanaidu said that 90 percent of the main civil works in the Polavaram project have been completed and compensation of Rs.600 crore will be paid to the residents of Veligonda by the end of the month.
