Bhagyanagar has become a spiritual haven. Everywhere you look in the city on Friday, you can see the pandemonium of the funeral procession. Tank Bund, NTR Marg and Hussainsagar areas were thronged as thousands of devotees flocked from all over the two Telugu states to see the highly prestigious Khairatabad Bada Ganesha immersion ghat. The Shobhayatra, which started in the morning, reached NTR Marg via Sensation Theatre, Rajduth Square, Telephone Bhavan, Mother Telangana Square. After special pujas by the festival committee, Swami was brought to the banks of the Ganges with the help of huge cranes. On the other hand, the Balapur Ganapati Laddu auction started with a starting price of Rs.1,116 and went on amid fierce competition. A total of nine people competed, and finally Sama Praneet Reddy won the laddoos for Rs.39 lakhs.30,000 policemen, drones and she teams have provided strong security for the smooth running of the Shobhayatra. In-charge Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, DGP CV Anand and City Police Commissioner Sajjanar personally supervised the immersion arrangements by helicopter. 15,000 sanitation workers across the city performed continuous duties and removed the waste.
