Minister for Roads and Buildings BC Janardhan Reddy said that Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has ordered to take appropriate measures to prevent disruption of public transport in view of the heavy rains falling across Andhra Pradesh due to the impact of heavy winds. He held a teleconference with R&B officials and district engineers from his office in Amaravati Secretariat. The authorities should be constantly available at the field level to solve the problems arising on the roads due to heavy rains. The minister directed that special attention should be paid to the roads leading to the coastal areas and indicators should be set up at the culverts and bridges to indicate the intensity of the water flow.Trees and broken branches falling on the roads should be removed immediately, he said. It has been clarified that protective equipment like sandbags and RCC pipes should be kept ready urgently in the problem areas where there is a possibility of landslides.
