Captain Shubman Gill said that the selection of the final team has become a big headache for the Indian team that has come to Sri Lanka with the aim of being in the final race of the World Test Championship (WTC 2027). He said that it is a matter of pride that Team India is playing the 600th Test match of their career on the occasion of Independence Day.
Responding to who should be selected in the middle order, Gill praised that young players like Sai Sudarshan and Sarfaraz Khan, who came into the team when seniors were not available, are impressing with their talent. However, it is clear that there is a fierce competition in terms of who will be given a chance, and the final team will be selected to balance the bowlers and batsmen by weighing the nature of the pitch and the bowling department of the opponent.
