Sangareddy/Hyderabad:
A new chapter has begun in the history of Civil Supplies Department of Telangana State. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy will formally launch the distribution program of state-of-the-art smart ration cards to PDS beneficiaries on August 15 at the Sangareddy venue.
In the past, the government noticed the problems of paper cards getting damaged and crumpled quickly and replaced them with PVC smart cards in the size of an ATM or debit card. Photo of family owner, FPS shop number, dealer details and QR code are printed on this card. Officials of the Civil Supplies Department said that the beneficiaries can easily swipe/scan these smart cards at the e-pass machines in the ration shops and get their allotted commodities transparently.
