CS Sanjay Jaju held a review meeting on the Department of Mines and Underground Resources. He ordered to crack down on illegal sand transportation and illegal mineral movement. It is advised to conduct continuous checks and surprise raids with vigilance teams.
He made it clear that areas where illegal activities are taking place should be identified and special surveillance should be set up and complaints received from people should be given immediate response. Legal action must be taken against those violating the rules.
It is advised to increase the revenue of the state through efficient utilization of mineral resources, speed up the process of filling vacant posts in the department and complete the promotions of employees as per the rules.The CS ordered to take appropriate measures without shortage of staff, to increase transparency and accountability in the department and to strengthen the monitoring system with technology. He made it clear that the department should work with the aim of providing better services to the people and increasing the revenue of the government.
