The Chief Minister reviewed the issues of protection, welfare, education, employment, economic empowerment, medical health etc. of SCs and STs in the meeting of the state level apex committee.
In the meeting, the issue of rape cases against SCs and STs being recorded in Guntur, Anantapur, East Godavari and Prakasam districts was examined. The CM suggested that a special study should be done on the number of cases as well as their nature, reasons and time taken for resolution.
He suggested that special sessions courts and special courts should take steps to resolve the cases speedily and the system should work so that the wrongdoers are punished without misusing the law.
