Hyderabad: A crucial development has taken place in the case registered under Cr.No.1096/2026 U/s 69, 89 BNS at KPHB Police Station. A 30-year-old woman who developed serious health problems after taking pills to terminate her pregnancy died while undergoing treatment. The police are continuing further investigation in the case.
According to the police, a case was registered on the basis of the complaint that the accused Arepu Nagasai (26) hid the fact that he was already married and continued to have physical relations with the victim, believing that he was going to get married.
Police said that the investigation revealed that after the victim got pregnant, the accused gave pills to abort the pregnancy. After that, the victim developed severe bleeding, stomach pain and other health problems.As a result, she was admitted to the ICU of KPHB Holistic Hospital and treated.
As part of the investigation, the accused approached the Investigating Officer (IO) on September 9, 2026 and he was interrogated. His OnePlus mobile phone, which was allegedly used for communication with the victim, was seized by the police through panchnama.
After completing the further legal process, the accused was arrested by the police and sent to judicial remand. Along with the medical examination of the accused, potency tests were also conducted as per the rules.
On the other hand, the victim was shifted to Kakinada Government Hospital in Andhra Pradesh for better treatment. But while receiving treatment there, she died on September 14 at 7 pm.The KPHB police said that section 89 of the BNS in the case has been changed to section 90(2) in view of the death of the victim. Further investigation into the case is going on and further action will be taken as per the law, he said.
